Career
Early Beginnings
Ryan had made a first-class debut while playing for Gauteng against Northerns and his talent shone through domestic tournaments such as the CSA Provincial One-Day Challenge, and the Sunfoil 3-Day Cup.

Ryan made his first-class debut whilst playing for Gauteng against Northerns and in August 2017, he was crowned the Nelson Mandela Bay Stars’ squad for the first season of the T20 Global League.
Shortly after, he made his debut in Twenty20 for Gauteng during the 2017 Africa T20 Cup in the same year. However ,in October, the Cricket South Africa had to postpone the tournament till November thus further cancelling it soon after.
Ryan went on to become the leading run-scorer in the 2017-18 CSA Provincial One-Day Challenge tournament for Gauteng with approximately 351 runs in eight matches. Not only this, he was also the leading run-score for the 2017-2018 Sunfoil 3-Day Cup with 562 runs in six matches.
Due to this impressive run, Ryan was named in the squad for the Highveld Lions in the 2018-19 season. In the following month, he went on to be named to the Cricket South Africa Emerging Squad.
