• Ryan went on to become the leading run-scorer in the 2017-18 CSA Provincial One-Day Challenge tournament for Gauteng with approximately 351 runs in eight matches. Not only this, he was also the leading run-score for the 2017-2018 Sunfoil 3-Day Cup with 562 runs in six matches. 
• Due to this impressive run, Ryan was named in the squad for the Highveld Lions in the 2018-19 season. In the following month, he went on to be named to the Cricket South Africa Emerging Squad. 
• In September 2019, he was successfully named in the squad for the Jozi Stars team for the Mzansi Super League tournament. 
• In February 2022, Ryan was made the captain of the Imperial Lions for the 2021-22 CSA T20 Challenge, and in the same year, he also signed the Country Championship with Northamptonshire for that year’s edition.

• In early 2021, Ryan was named in South Africa’s Twenty20 International (T20I) squad for their series against Pakistan. • In November, he was once again named in South Africa’s One Day International (ODI) squad for their game against the Netherlands. In December, Ryan was in South Africa’s Test squad for the series against India.
