History of ACA–VDCA Cricket Stadium
In 2003, the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium came to the fore and the old Municipal Stadium was not in proper condition to host international cricket. It held its inaugural ODI between India and Pakistan on 5 April 2005, the match during which MS Dhoni hit his maiden international hundred (148).
In September 2009, they later renamed the stadium the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in memory of the late Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. In 2015, they gave the stadium Test status and played the first Test match in November 2016, when India beat England by 246 runs.
