History of ACA–VDCA Cricket Stadium
In 2003, the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium came to the fore and the old Municipal Stadium was not in proper condition to host international cricket. It held its inaugural ODI between India and Pakistan on 5 April 2005, the match during which MS Dhoni hit his maiden international hundred (148).
The stadium was later renamed the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in memory of the late Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh in September 2009. In 2015, the stadium was given Test status and the first Test match was played in November 2016, when India beat England by 246 runs.
